The four-day South Asia Trade Fair 2025 begins today (Thursday) at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka. Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin will inaugurate the event at 11:00 am.
Jointly organised by the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the fair brings together more than 100 business entities from SAARC member countries under one roof.
Open to visitors from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm daily, the event will continue until Sunday. It will feature B2B matchmaking sessions, networking opportunities, and various programmes aimed at enhancing trust and promoting knowledge-sharing among entrepreneurs from across the region.
The exhibition will showcase a diverse range of products — from ready-made garments, textiles, gems and jewelry to cosmetics, leather goods, home appliances, kitchenware, processed food and electronics.
Participating countries include Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. Organisers believe the fair will play a crucial role in strengthening regional connectivity and boosting intra-regional trade — which remains significantly low despite South Asia’s huge potential.
By fostering closer business ties and highlighting the rich traditions and cultural heritage of participating countries, the trade fair aims to bridge gaps and unlock new opportunities within the SAARC region.
